WHAT IS A NEWS FEED?

...and why would you want to subscribe to one?

Through the use of a News Reader you can be notified when articles are posted or changes are made in sites to which you have subscribed.

News Readers are built into browsers such as Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. There are also software programs available free on the web for all operating systems. See "News Reader Software" below. Some web sites such as myYahoo allow you to customize content to include your favorite News Feeds.

One of the advantages to using a News Reader is the ability to see from one point whether new content has been added to any of the sites you have subscribed to. To make selecting which articles deserve further reading, a short summary of the article is also included.

A News Reader also keeps track of which articles you have read and displays a count of unread articles.

To use your browsers built in reader click on "Subscribe" and bookmark the site.
